In order to make the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania a better place to live while fostering community and economic development, the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) provides the capital for decent, safe and affordable homes and apartments for older adults, persons of modest means and those with special housing needs. Since its creation by the Pennsylvania state legislature in 1972, (PHFA) has generated $10.3 billion of funding for more than 145,400 single-family home mortgage loans and 83,000 rental units, while saving the homes of more than 46,000 Pennsylvania families from foreclosure.
- Graphcom Creative provided art direction and design for PHFA’s 2011 Annual Report entitled “The Lives We Touch.” The annual report received a 2012 Hermes Creative Gold Award. The award is part of an international competition for creative professionals; the competition is judged by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals.
- The design of “The Lives We Touch” was inspired by the stories of Pennsylvanians who benefited from PHFA programs and services during the 2011 fiscal year. Its overall look and feel suggests images of family and home, which is conveyed through the framed photo treatments appearing throughout the book.
- “The Lives We Touch” annual report was perfect bound; its front cover features a transparent foil overlay to create the effect of glass for the photo frames that appear on the cover.
- Recycled paper and soy-based inks were used in the printing of “The Lives We Touch” annual report. Graphcom, Inc. provided printing and bindery services for the annual report.
